New Google SSL Protocol Will Greatly Impact SEO Ranking
Google is tightening their already hefty security precautions against online intruders. By February 2017 ANY website that does not have an SSL certificate on their website will start seeing “Not Secure” warnings next to their URL at the top of internet browsers.
These alerts will begin with users of the Google Chrome web browser. Google Chrome web browser users have make up 63% of all online activity according to StatCounter. Meaning that almost two thirds of online users will see your website as “Not Secure”.
What does this mean for SEO?
If your site has been ranking high in SEO, but you do not comply with installing an SSL certificate for your website; expect to see your rankings drop. By 2018 at the absolute latest, any site that is concerned with how they rank on search engines will have to install this certificate into their site or risk their positions.
